Know the three parties
An online sermorelin service can involve a storefront or platform, a clinician or medical practice, and a dispensing pharmacy. They may be separate organizations. Understanding that arrangement is useful because billing, medical decisions, and medication handling are different responsibilities.
Ask for the treating clinician’s name and professional credentials, the medical practice’s contact information, and the dispensing pharmacy’s identity. If a pharmacy is assigned after clinical review, ask when you will learn its name and whether you can review the information before the prescription order becomes nonrefundable.
A polished website can explain a service well. It cannot substitute for these details. We place more weight on a clear care pathway than on a long list of benefits above a checkout button.
Use FDA’s pharmacy checks
FDA’s BeSafeRx guidance recommends an online pharmacy that requires a prescription from a licensed health professional, provides a U.S. physical address, has an appropriately state-licensed pharmacist available, and is licensed by the relevant state pharmacy boards.
Use the state board’s own records to verify the pharmacy rather than relying only on a badge displayed by the seller. Confirm that the record matches the pharmacy’s name and location. A platform’s name may not be the name you need to search.
Offering prescription medicine without a prescription is a warning sign in FDA’s guidance. A vial sold for laboratory research is not a substitute for a patient-specific prescription and pharmacy counseling.
An evaluation should be able to change the outcome
A credible consultation allows for more than approval. Depending on your history and symptoms, a clinician may need more information, recommend a different evaluation, decline to prescribe, or discuss alternatives. Ask what happens in each situation and which fees remain payable.
The important question is not whether a website has a questionnaire. It is what happens after you answer it. Who reviews your history? Can you ask follow-up questions? What happens if your symptoms need a physical examination or specialist assessment?
Be accurate about medications, supplements, medical conditions, allergies, and previous hormone treatment. The goal is an appropriate decision, not qualifying for a product you selected in advance. Be wary of a process that presents prescription approval as guaranteed before a clinician has evaluated you.
Before checkout, settle these details
| Topic | Ask for |
|---|---|
| Prescription | Exact formulation, route, ingredients, and whether it is compounded. |
| Clinical access | How to contact the treating team and what response time to expect. |
| Pharmacy | Identity, license verification, pharmacist contact, and patient instructions. |
| Payment | What is charged today, after approval, and on renewal. |
| If treatment stops | Refill cancellation deadline, order-processing rules, and refund terms. |
Save the terms that apply to your order. The consultation charge, medication charge, and subscription charge may follow different rules. If a representative answers a question in chat, keep that answer with your receipt.
Do not assume that “cancel anytime” means an already prepared prescription can be refunded. Ask when a renewal enters pharmacy processing and which action actually stops both billing and shipment.
Follow-up is part of access
Ask how side effects and results are reviewed after the first shipment. A general customer-service inbox may help with delivery, but it is not the same as access to clinical advice. Find the urgent contact instructions before you need them.
For compounded medication, FDA does not verify safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing. That makes an understandable relationship with both the prescriber and pharmacist particularly relevant. Neither a telehealth consultation nor historical Geref approval changes that status.
Keep copies of your prescription instructions and any laboratory results. If you switch clinics, an accurate record is more useful than trying to reconstruct the plan from renewal emails.
Our provider checklist offers a shorter comparison tool. Read the FDA approval explanation when a seller’s regulatory language is unclear, and the coverage guide before assuming a prescription makes the purchase reimbursable.
