# Who is treating you in a sermorelin telehealth visit?

Before an online sermorelin consultation, you should be able to identify the clinician providing care and the medical practice responsible for the visit. A recognizable storefront is only one part of that picture.

## Start with the people responsible for care

Ask for the treating clinician’s full name, professional designation, and practice name. A website’s medical adviser, spokesperson, or founder is not necessarily the person reviewing your history or prescribing. Confirm who will conduct your appointment and whose name will appear in the visit summary. If the clinician changes, ask for the updated information.

Keep the clinical practice separate from the company taking payment and the pharmacy filling a prescription. These organizations may cooperate, but their responsibilities differ. You should know where a medical question goes after checkout and who handles a complaint about the consultation. A chat window staffed by customer service is useful for logistics; it should also offer a clear route to the team responsible for clinical decisions.

## Match credentials to the visit location

Use the relevant state professional licensing board’s official lookup to check the clinician’s identity and credential. Match the full name and license details rather than relying on a common name alone. If you cannot find a match or the record is unclear, ask the practice to provide the correct board and identifying information.

[HHS explains that cross-state telehealth authority varies](https://telehealth.hhs.gov/licensure/licensing-across-state-lines) and may involve different licensing or registration pathways. Ask the practice to confirm that the clinician can provide care where you will physically be during the visit. A mailing address or a previous appointment in another state does not resolve that question. Our [state-lines guide](https://sermorelinhub.com/research/sermorelin-telehealth-state-lines) covers the travel and relocation implications in more detail.

## Expect a patient identity check, with an explanation

[HHS includes confirming patient identity in its telehealth workflow guidance](https://telehealth.hhs.gov/providers/planning-your-telehealth-workflow). That helps connect the consultation to the correct person and medical record. Ask the practice what identification it requires, when it is collected, and which channel to use. The requirements of a particular service should be explained rather than left to guesswork.

An identity check does not mean every unexpected request for a document is legitimate. If a message asks for an identification upload through an unfamiliar link, verify the request with the practice through an established contact route. Do not assume that a logo or a message mentioning your appointment proves who sent it. If you lack the requested document, ask about an accepted alternative before the appointment.

## Resolve mismatches before proceeding

At the visit, confirm the clinician’s name and the reason for the consultation. Tell the practice if your name, date of birth, contact details, or medical history appear incorrectly in the portal. A simple clerical error and a record belonging to someone else require different responses, but both deserve correction before they affect care.

Likewise, ask about an unexpected difference between the clinician named at booking and the person present. Staff coverage may change legitimately; the practice should still explain who is treating you. If the visit becomes a sales conversation without a clear clinical assessment, ask when and how a licensed clinician will review your situation. Payment, identity verification, and a medical assessment are separate steps; completing one does not establish that the others occurred.

## Leave with a traceable care contact

After the appointment, save the visit summary, the treating clinician’s name, and the method for reaching the clinical team. If a prescription is issued, confirm the dispensing pharmacy separately. [FDA’s online-pharmacy guidance](https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/how-buy-medicines-safely-online-pharmacy) recommends checking pharmacy licensing and pharmacist access; identifying the prescriber does not replace that check.

For questions about retaining identity documents or sharing health information, read the applicable privacy notice and our [telehealth privacy guide](https://sermorelinhub.com/research/sermorelin-telehealth-privacy). The practical result of these checks should be a clear chain of responsibility: you know who evaluated you, which practice holds the clinical record, and how to obtain help. That remains useful even if the website branding or subscription arrangement later changes.
